A definition of faith

So, once again, I’m stumbling across the internet, and I come across this comic:

Comic that defines faith as "believing in something that is not based on fact"
Comic that defines faith as "believing in something that is not based on fact"

I’m not even going to begin the whole concept of personal definition vs a dictionary definition, but wordnet defines it as either a belief in the supernatural, a person/place/thing or loyalty towards a person/place/thing.  I probably shouldn’t even mention that the author is assuming a knowledge a of God she does not believe in or acknowledge, so mentioning it causes a paradox that she is writing fiction, therefore her point has no validity.

I do respect most atheists who offer an intelligent discussion, but I do not respect Atheists who aren’t concerned with their argument as much as they are with attempting to discredit God.  If you are Atheists, then be Atheists – you don’t have to shove it down people’s throats.  I know, you can bring up the argument, “well, Christianity has been shoved down people’s throats for centuries” blah blah blah.  I won’t defend Christianity in it’s stupid historical mistakes, but if you purposefully make the same mistake, you make your argument no better than ours.

That is all, take care.
