The Lord revealed some connections in scripture I previously was ignorant in. People have came up with some really weird theories on humanity’s sin, in the form of inherited or general sin. Some say it’s some sort of genetic thing, as we existed in Adam’s diverse DNA, or that sin was just a taught thing (a sinful parent can only teach corrupted things to the parent’s children, and cycle repeats itself). The problem with these theories is that they have no real biblical roots, but are speculation. Let me connect a verse in the Ten Commandments, Exodus 20:4-6 (talking about idolatry), and specifically 5b: “for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me.” When people convert to Christianity, there is, generally speaking, a repentance of a life-time of sin, but what about inherit sin? Haggai 2:12-13 outlines what when something is unclean (‘sinful’), and it touches something clean (‘sanctified’), the clean becomes unclean. This doesn’t have anything to do with the physical. God created flesh to be able to be perfect and in communion with Him. Therefore, when you repent, ask God to remove what is unclean in you, because simply by being human with some sort of sin nature, we have uncleanness in our lives. Ask God to remove everything that separates you from Him, even the things we don’t even know we have!
I’m sorry that all seems like a bit of a goose chase to understand, but that’s how I received it.
